Malaviya National Institute of Technology is one of India's premier NITs. The Institute is fully funded by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India. The institute was established in 1963, and its campus spreads over 317 acres of lush green area in the central location of Jaipur city. It is imaginatively laid out with a picturesque landscape. It presents a spectacle of harmony in modern architecture and natural beauty which enthralls and inspires. The institute campus consists of the institute buildings, halls of residence, and staff colony. It is a residential campus offering accommodation for faculty, staff, and students. The Institute offers undergraduate and postgraduate (B.Tech., B.Arch., M. Tech., M. Arch., M.Sc., MBA, and Ph.D.) programs to about 4500 students in leading Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Management, and Sciences fields. The institute actively engages in research, consultancy, and developmental activities besides imparting regular teaching. More than 12,000 students have already been graduated since its establishment.

About Department 

Department of Chemistry at Malaviya National Institute of Technology Jaipur, offers an exciting environment for graduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students in almost all areas of the chemical sciences. The experienced faculty members are seriously involved in teaching and basic research. The department at present is running chemistry course for B. Tech students in which they are learning about the effectiveness of the basic sciences, applied in the different fields/branches of engineering. In addition, the department is offering postgraduate M.Sc. and doctoral program for science graduate students. The laboratories of the department have the latest state of art equipment, where the students acquire the practical hands. The department is a picture of vibrancy and dynamism with a strong motivated work force of research scholars & faculty members. Various prestigious organizations worldwide have shown faith in research capabilities of faculty members through research grants. The department is continuously upgrading the teaching-learning process through initiatives and best practices adopted around the world. Currently the department of chemistry offers doctoral thesis research in the areas of nanomaterials, electrochemistry, catalysis, energy materials, organometallic chemistry, hetrocyclic chemistry, green chemistry, medicinal chemistry, theoretical chemistry and spectroscopy.
